Project Engineer

Kilcoy Global Foods is a high end protein food solutions company that supplies both domestic and international markets. KGF has successfully expanded its operations and foot print in recent years and boasts international interests in Australia, North America and China.

KGF are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer with great work ethic and initiative to join our team. Construction will commence shortly on a new (a major extension to the) wastewater treatment plant built on site and this positions initial core responsibility will be to assist in managing this project.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the management of projects from the tendering process through to Operational handover.
  • Assist in the production of coordinated system drawings and plans.
  • Coordinate the contract and site Engineering teams to ensure delivery is compliant with the approved project specifics
  • Appropriate selection of plant and equipment to meet specifications.
  • Prepare detailed technical project plans for approval.
  • Effective management of business, vendor and contractor relationships to ensure the highest level of service is provided.
  • Identify and recommend equipment requirements.
  • Work with the QA and Environment team to ensure that the project accommodates and delivered in accordance with specifications.
  • Effectively manage issues such as cost, safety and time constraints, advising up where necessary.
  • Ensure that the project is at all times in compliance with all client and statutory requirements
  • Engage with contractors to ensure handover is planned and managed smoothly and effectively.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical plan design skills, expertise in CAD is essential
  • Demonstrate the ability of self-management and self-direction, as well as being able to work within a broader team.
  • Strong communication, organisational and influential skills with the ability to successfully liaise with a wide range of people to achieve successful project outcomes
  • Ability to critically think and problem solve, in a high pressure environment.
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Leadership qualities
