KGF has a full-time opportunity for a driven and experienced  Payroll Officer to join our existing team. In this key role, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely payroll of an organisation of more than 1500 employees, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external requirements / reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the team in ensuring  employees are paid correctly and in accordance with any employee agreements or contracts;
  • Producing weekly payroll reports, including entering timesheets, employee deduction information, annual and sick leave forms;
  • Onboarding new employees
  • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate employee and superannuation records;
  • Liaising with external agencies such as Centrelink, financial institutions and debt collection agencies;
  • Ensuring regulatory requirements are being met, including PAYG, Payroll Tax, Workers Compensation and superannuation obligations; and
  • Actively looking for opportunities to improve systems and processes.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Extensive experience in the payroll function within a medium to large business
  • High level of computer literacy with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in the CHRIS21/Kronos system (preferred)
  • An ability to interpret Awards and Collective Agreements would be held in high regard.
  • High level of attention to detail and consistently display organisational skills and initiative in your work,
  • Ability to problem solve when necessary and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines. 
  • A strong communicator with a customer service focused approach

An ability to liaise with a range of internal and external contacts — whether in person, over the phone, or via email — ensuring a high standard of client service at all times.
