Kilcoy Global Foods (KGF) is seeking an experienced Work, Health and Safety (WHS) Risk Reduction Manager who will take a proactive role as a leader in coordinating the development and implementation of effective WHS risk reduction projects, risk management, risk identification, and risk mitigation across the organization.

The successful candidate will achieve this by partnering with all departments on WHS risk challenges, concerns, questions and issues, in pursuit of the reduction and mitigation of all WHS related risk. Reporting to the Work Health and Safety Manager, this role is pivotal in creating a culture of proactive safety, where employees take responsibility for their safety and well-being and are risk aware. This position will be full time working Monday – Friday and may include working some weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake and document risk assessments
  • Develop, implement and maintain WHS project management plan/s for nominated projects,
  • Project Manage the key milestones of WHS project development, delivery and closeout.
  • Work closely with Operational teams to implement WHS projects and system changes ensuring they are understood, imbedded within the operation and comply with legislative and company requirements  
  • Maintain records and register of all projects, ensuring ongoing monitoring and action
  • Maintain the operational risk register as well as assist departments to develop and maintain their own risk registers
  • Identify and Implement continuous improvement initiatives and develop early identification strategies to intently improve safety culture and process management.
  • Identify risk in functional projects and recommend solutions
  • Work closely with the dedicated project team to implement a structured and holistic approach to all WHS aspects of the project
  • Provide timely and accurate WHS reporting for the nominated projects.
  • Champion the development of Risk Management plans across the organisation
  • Lead and as required participate in Incident Investigation, Audit and Risk Management Activities at site and implement corrective actions as required
  • Provide specialist advice, assistance and coaching to management on existing exposures and controls, and the effectiveness of the application of those controls. When applicable, develop and submit recommendations to managers to reduce and maintain their level of risk.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and input into the review of WHS policies and procedures as required  
  • Encourage a culture of hazard and near miss reporting and effective close out
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to the WHSMS

About your experience
To be successful in this role you will be a team player who has a desire to learn and develop your career with a high performing, established team. You will also have previous experience in a similar role within the FMCG/Meat Processing industry as well as;

  • Proven ability to design, manage, and implement projects of a technical nature
  • A proficiency in assessing and managing risk developed through 5+ years of ample industry based risk management experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and influencing skills combined with solid planning and time management skills
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge of AS4801, ISO31000 and legislative provisions around duty of care and reasonably practicable
  • Advanced computer knowledge (Word – formatting and document creation. Excel – basic formulas, sorting, filtering and use of pivot tables. Online reporting systems – report generation, Devices – iOS familiarity)
